I learned something tonight. Most people probably already know this, or could just assume this as common sense, but sometimes I suspect that I missed the train the day that the "common sense" chip was installed into the 1979 brains. I learned that even dried chile peppers will burn facial skin if you play with them and then inadvertently touch your face. I might have misted a few pounds off of my OneChubbyAss in the form of sweat while learning this lesson, so perhaps all is not lost. I wore my pink moustache of facial irritation proudly as I ate.
This dish is a melange of all of the things I love (except for chocolate, but I did consider it for a brief moment), thrown into one dish, so it's by no means authentic. It's also the product of having nothing else in the house (otherwise I'd have thrown some spinach or kale into it, and if you have some, go for it!). You see, my husband wanted to run home and watch the hockey game instead of letting me venture into my own personal Disneyland--Whole Foods! Fortunately for me, I've been thinking about making something like this for awhile, so this was finally my chance to do it.
